Sheltered by nature, be it the century-old olive grove or the luscious tuscan garden of wild roses and perennials, Badia Roccavo, a converted medieval convent, embraces and welcomes.

Located in the hills of Castiglion Fiorentino, minutes away from the famous Cortona and twenty minutes from Arezzo, a Tuscan province where writers and artists were born, the house is the perfect spot for those looking for a quiet hideaway in the countryside, still willing to be close to Tuscany’s cultural heritage.

Recently refurbished and tastefully decorated, the house can accommodate up to 10 people. The day area includes a fully equipped kitchen with a professional cooker and a wooden stove, a big dining/living room with an ancient and fully functioning stone fireplace, and a cozy library where to spend slow evenings reading a book or watching tv.

Next to the library a studio, with a desk and couch, is the perfect working space for those who cannot switch off completely.

From there a spiral staircase leads to the tower room, a double room situated in the old tower of the convent, with two big windows overlooking the magnificent countryside and the famous Castello di Montecchio. The bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with shower.

Back downstairs, in the sleeping area, there are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms that can be reached through a long corridor, decorated with ancient prints.

One of the bedrooms has a queen size bed, the other one has a king size bed and a small loft that can be used for storage. The ‘kids room’ has twin size beds, plenty of space for playing and an ancient fireplace which is no longer in use.

The green bathroom has a large size bathtub from Devon & Devon and a comfortable shower. The red bathroom has a custom-made hand painted shower with a window overlooking the olive fields.

Downstairs you will also find a small service bathroom with washing machine.

The house is surrounded by a century-old olive grove and a typical Tuscan Garden of perennials and wild roses. Our guests will have access to the outdoor pool, the entire garden and the comfortably decorated dehor.

A wooden fireplace and a barbecue are also available.

Badia Roccavo is located in the hills of Castiglion Fiorentino, a medieval village, 20 minutes away by car from the famous town of Cortona and half an hour from the city of Arezzo, known for its famous churches and art museums, antique markets and the historical reenactment of the Saracino Joust, held in June and September.

The house is located in the heart of the Val di chiana, 40 minutes away from Siena and the neighboring wine producing region of Montepulciano.

Florence is one hour away by car and so is Perugia, the renown Umbrian capital.
